Season Review

The end of the football season is a logical way to look back over the achievements of my sports photography work. 2014/15 has meant stepping up a gear in my commissions, in particular taking on FA Cup, league cup and Premier League work. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a little daunted by the thought of my first Premier League job, especially being at Anfield (being a Manchester United fan made it an interesting experience!) but one I got started, it was pretty much the same as any other game pitchside.
A step up even from that was a commission for the Preston v Manchester United FA Cup game, which with my United affiliations made for an emotional job. The little boy in me meant I was a little starstruck by being so close to the likes of Rooney, De Gea & co. But like the game at Anfield, I soon got back in to my stride and managed to work as normal.
Hopefully next season will mean carrying on with similar commissions, I guess a step-up would be a European game, so watch this space!
